Senior Marketing and Communications Manager

Excellent career opportunity with a leading communications App in South Africa. You will be reporting to the Managing Director. 

The purpose of the role is to develop marketing and communications strategies, the development and management of research, content development, public relations, events management, ambassador relations management and internal communications functions within the company. 

Responsibilities and key performance areas: 

1. Strategic Management

  • Working with fellow members of management to collectively implement business objectives
  • Establishing an effective Marketing and Communications unit including policies, systems, processes and procedures 

2. Research Management

  • Overseeing the development and implementation of an annual research plan encompassing market, competitor, buyer and client data aligned to business development objectives

3. Marketing and Communications Strategy Development

  • Developing a marketing and communications strategy incorporating a brand strategy, brand promise and brand house, thought leadership/eminence themes, a messaging framework, a high-level channel mix, an ambassador relations programme as well as measures
    of success
  • Developing and implementing marketing and communication plans for the region

4. Content Development and Public Relations

  • Overseeing the development of content and channel strategies, content plans and content development in order to ensure that all external
    communications contain a consistent, compelling customer proposition that positions the brand by creating a golden-thread - i.e. through
    product/ service/solution/advisory – linking all brand building opportunities, collateral and positioning

5. Events Management

  • Overseeing the development and implementation of an annual events calendar to drive brand awareness and differentiation including webinars, learning circles, company attendance at 3rd party conferences and awards

6. Ambassador Relations Management

  • Overseeing the design of an ambassador programme incorporating sales agents and strategic partners as well as employees
  • Ensuring that ambassador relationships are effectively managed including the development and management of ambassador recognition and reward frameworks

7. Internal Communications

  • Overseeing the development and implementation of an internal marketing and communication strategy

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Masters in marketing, communications or digital media
  • Over 5 years of management experience in an externally-facing communications role
  • Managerial experience in a SaaS organization or tech environment - advantageous
