Job Purpose:

To lead and manage large-scale construction and infrastructure projects across mining, industrial, and residential sectors. The Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction from planning to execution, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and budgetary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle: planning, design, procurement, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
  • Manage multiple construction sites and teams across remote and urban locations.
  • Oversee infrastructure development including camps, roads, processing plants, and utilities.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones within budget.

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Supervise multidisciplinary teams including engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Conduct training, enforce SHEQ standards, and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Liaise with shareholders, senior leadership, and government stakeholders.

Technical Oversight

  • Review and approve engineering designs, construction drawings, and technical queries (TQs).
  • Manage procurement, logistics, and importation of materials and equipment.
  • Oversee high-voltage (HV) systems, earth-moving equipment, and plant installations.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs, quality control, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost control, and CAPEX/OPEX management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent

Certifications:

  • PMBOK Project Management 

Experience:

  • 15+ years in construction and infrastructure management across Africa.
  • Proven track record in mining, industrial, and residential projects
  • Experience with multinational companies

Technical Skills:

  • MS Suite, MS Projects, SAP, Sage, AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of SHEQ, EPCM, and contract management
