SAIPA Trainee Accountant (2 Positions)

3-Year Program

Cape Town

A dynamic financial advisory firm based in Cape Town is seeking two motivated BCom graduates who are eager to complete their SAIPA traineeship and qualify as Professional Accountants (SA).

Managed by a team of highly skilled professionals, the firm offers a supportive environment where trainees can grow their expertise and gain hands-on experience across a range of accounting and financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Trainee Accountant, you will work alongside a team of experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure to:

  • Preparing financial statements for high-net-worth individuals and trusts

  • Processing monthly transactions and performing bank reconciliations

  • Assisting with tax computations and submissions (individuals and trusts)

  • Contributing to management accounts and year-end audits

  • Supporting client portfolio administration

Minimum Academic Requirements:
Candidates must have completed the following subjects as part of their degree:

  • Financial Accounting 3

  • Taxation 1

  • Auditing 1 / Internal Auditing 2 / Internal Control and Code of Ethics

  • Corporate Law 1 / Commercial Law 2

  • Management Accounting 2

Additional Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge or exposure to accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, Pastel, Draftworx, etc.)

  • Clear academic record (ideally no failed subjects)

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Graduates who studied in the Western Cape and are currently residing in the region
