Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead overall project delivery, ensuring compliance with company, client, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project controls: reporting, costs, schedules, trends, and change management for both direct and indirect costs.
  • Develop and maintain project procedures, work practices, plans, and systems for efficient team operations.
  • Drive projects to meet contractual KPIs and exceed client expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with commercial, safety, environmental, community, industrial relations, and quality standards.
  • Audit and improve policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
  • Mentor engineers and support professional development.
  • Recommend operational efficiency improvements and contribute to business improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, costs, safety, quality, environmental risks, and changes.
  • Travel as required for business operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10–15 years in mineral processing or related industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in Project Management, preferably large-scale mining projects.
  • Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects, delivering on time, within scope, and under budget.
  • Knowledge of open-pit and underground mining methods.
  • Proficient in project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Strong financial skills: CAPEX/OPEX planning, cost tracking, cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience managing full project lifecycle: feasibility, FEED, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, handover.
  • Familiarity with EPC/EPCM contracts and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident, based in Cape Town.
  • Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, delegate appropriately, and maintain high-quality deliverables.
  • Technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills, integrity, attention to detail, process optimization expertise, and discretion.
