Civil Engineer

The role is offered as a two-year contract, with the potential for renewal.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Design:
- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to understand site requirements and design specifications.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets and resource allocations tailored to client needs.
Construction Oversight & Management:
- Oversee the construction of telecom sites, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and local authorities to facilitate seamless project progress.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and provide on-site guidance, addressing any client concerns.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with local, national and international regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety compliance, meeting client expectations.
- Ensure that all projects meet the client's strict specifications and quality requirements.
International Collaboration:
- Work closely with diverse teams across different countries, adapting to various cultural and regulatory environments.
- Foster strong relationships with local stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Client Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present detailed progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on telecommunications and/or datacentre infrastructure.
Proven experience managing international projects and working in diverse cultural settings.
Strong understanding of telecom and datacentre site development processes and regulatory requirements.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to different working environments.
Languages: English. French and Portuguese are advantageous.
African regional and International work experience preferred.
