An established organization operating within the mining and engineering sectors is seeking a motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Khomas Region of Namibia. Where You'll Make an Impact:

  • Design mine infrastructure from conceptual layouts through to detailed plans, including bulk earthworks, terraces, and roads.

  • Conduct hydrological run-off calculations and water balance modelling to ensure sustainable water management.

  • Develop designs for water infrastructure such as dams and canals, alongside mine waste disposal and tailings facilities.

  • Utilize various computer software and modelling packages to analyze, design, and optimize infrastructure solutions.

  • Compile comprehensive reports, technical documentation, and tender documents to support project execution.

  • Perform site visits and geotechnical investigations to inform and validate designs.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in the tailings industry to continuously improve technical expertise.

Duties:

  • Design and develop mine infrastructure components.

  • Conduct hydrological and geotechnical analyses.

  • Generate technical reports and tender documentation.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and keep updated on industry advancements.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng or B.Sc).

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably within consulting, engineering, or mining sectors.

  • Fundamental knowledge of soil mechanics.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, and MS Office suite.

  • Strong data analysis and report writing skills.

  • Ability to work on-site in Khomas Region.

Familiarity with the following:

  • Geotechnical investigations.

  • Water management infrastructure design.

  • Tailings and waste disposal facilities.
