R1.2m - R2m plus bonus

Superb career opportunity with growing team of global FMCG Group. Reporting into the Head of Communications you will be responsible for external (75%)  and internal communications (25%).  You will play a key role in engaging your colleagues around the organisations current transformation,
driving a single narrative across the organization. Utilizing a variety of communications channels, you will drive a consistent narrative, achieve a clear understanding of the vision, and instill confidence in this transformation. Content is king and developing compelling content for all communications channels is a critical focus of the role. You will work closely with internal partners locally and at our global Operations Centre, as well partnering with and external communications agencies.

Key Responsibilities

External Communications
Develop and execute integrated communications strategies and initiatives across paid, earned, owned and social channels to support the achievement of key business objectives, and to protect and improve organisations reputation
Develop the omnichannel content calendar, and lead messaging and content creation in collaboration with Global Communications team
Drive positive coverage across a broad range of media, including online, broadcast and print outlets. Help lead an external agency to draft and edit written content, conduct quality media engagements, and handle crisis communications.

Internal Communications
Lead the development of an internal communications strategy which improves the consistency, clarity and relevance of internal communications in order to make employees the most effective advocates of the organisations mission
Translate the strategy into an internal communications calendar executed across a variety of channels, including email, newsletters, corporate intranet, etc

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing
  • Skilled at content development for multiple communications channels, copywriting and editing especially for earned media.
  • 5-7 years of experience in communications at senior corporate or agency level
